Richard was one of the first to work for ABVC 15 years ago
I’ve made a home with ABVC over the years, building strong relationships with the team and friendships with my colleagues that I cherish.
I have been working for Al Barsha Veterinary Clinic for over 15 years now. Time has flown and I have cherished every moment. I have witnessed how ABVC have grown, how we started from the sandy area of Al Barsha, and how we have become to be one of the most leading veterinary service providers in the region.
When I first arrived in Dubai in 2004, I started working odd jobs for the first 9 months. But an opportunity came to my way when I received a phone call from ABVC for an interview while I was doing part-time job at Emirates Gulf Club and luckily got an offer to be a driver and at the same time to work in the clinic as an animal handler. I’ve got my visa and my driver’s license after 6 weeks. It has been a whirlwind journey and the rest is history.
To be one of the firsts, I remember when we started only from two cages, with only a few staff, and have been working all around to cover the needs of increasing demand in the veterinary field at that time. I have seen and met a lot of people from different backgrounds, from clients and co-workers, have 😢 cried, have 😀laughed, and have gained friends from the veterinary industry and have established long-lasting friendships throughout these years.
ABVC is like a tree that helped me branch out to discover my self-worth. It provided me lots of opportunities and self-development. It builds my confidence in dealing with people and no day is ever the same which makes working at ABVC really enjoyable. The way this company treats its people and goes out to help employees achieve their career goals is something I haven’t seen elsewhere and for that, we are blessed.
For 15 years, I can say I am one of the pioneer employees but still looking forward to many years of working here as this is my second family. A family that understands and protects just like the way they care for your furry babies.
Regards Stay Safe,
Richard Balbin
