Michael Mangaoang
Hi! I’m Michael Angelo D. Mangaoang, Animal Handler at ABVC.
Last December 1990, my mother gave me birth in Aringay, La Union, Philippines. I’m the youngest of four (all boys) siblings. During my childhood stage, I used to play basketball with my neighbourhood children, but my most favorite was to play with our dogs. At the age of seven (7), since my Auntie had no child, I needed to stay with her in her house, she was the one who took care of me until I graduated from high school. My Auntie was so much strict; she was not allowing me to go out every time I wanted to play outside and go to my friends’ house that’s why my friends were the one who’s visiting me in the house. After I had graduated, I decided to return to my family. I was very happy because I could again do all the things I’d missed to do. A month before the enrolment for college, my uncle had entered me to employment where he’s working too. On that early age, I was working in a factory next to our town. Time passed by, I had enjoyed my work and made myself decided not to enter on the next level of education which is college and to continue working. At the age of 23, I got married. On that time, my wife was a government employee, and I was still working in the factory. After a few months of staying together, my wife had encouraged me to study in a vocational school, so I decided to stop working. I took up two courses (Electronics and Carpentry). After my graduation, we planned to go abroad to be ready for our future, so my wife also decided to resign from her job as a local government employee.
December 2015, we arrived here in Dubai. My wife and I faced many challenges and had to sacrifice many things, before having a good job. Living in a new place without our families was very difficult at that time, but we’re still thankful because we have friends in Dubai who helped us a lot and especially to our Almighty God, who never fails to protect and guide us in all ways. After one and a half month looking for a job, God already answered our prayers and gave us the fruit of such sacrifices. At present, my wife is working as a Documents Controller on a Building Contracting Company while I’m working at ABVC as an Animal Handler. My current job in a veterinary is not quite new to me because I loved dogs even before. Seeing more dogs and other pets every day makes me feel happy. I love my job so much, I have learned a lot and still learning more new things daily, about pets.
