Rabies vaccination
Vaccines are created to trigger an immune response and in doing so help prepare the immune system to fight infections from disease-inflicting agents.
Vaccines are prepared in a way to do as little as possible harm, whilst creating an enormous protective shield of ready antibodies and a memory to build even more to protect the individual from getting sick.
Reasons to vaccinate a pet
- Vaccinations prevent many diseases which are known to cause unnecessary death, disability e.o.
- Vaccinations help avoid expensive treatments which can be prevented.
- Vaccinations prevent certain diseases to pass from animals to humans (and vv).
If the majority of a population is vaccinated this also protects the non-vaccinated population by lowering the risk of exposure. It is therefore important for communities to secure a big enough population to create this effect. Governments, therefore, require certain vaccines which are of economic value for the country or for a human Health security interest to be mandatorily vaccinated.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) requires certain vaccinations for Pet Animals.
For Dogs and Cats, Rabies Vaccination is Mandatory
Rabies is a viral disease of mammals that invades the central nervous system causing headache, anxiety, hallucinations, excessive drooling, paralysis, and death. It is most frequently transmitted through the bite of a rabid animal and is contagious to humans.
